LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A 10-year-old boy will likely face expulsion from his elementary school after allegedly opening fire on classmates with a BB gun on Monday.
The incident happened just before noon at Stein Elementary on South Teller Street.
According to Jefferson County Schools spokeswoman Lynn Setzer, the fourth grade student shot 6 classmates inside a classroom, none of whom were seriously injured.
Staff members confiscated the gun.
Lakewood Police spokesman Steve Davis said the student was arrested and taken to a police station, issued a summons, and then released to a parent.
Setzer said he faces “zero tolerance discipline,” meaning he will be expelled.
